2025 Week 38 To-Do

Fun Fact: I took this photo on May 16 and said, “Let’s see how long I can go before I am forced to use this because I have nothing else.” 4 months. Not bad.

Our final installment in the ‘marking time’ series that has happened these past few weeks:

Compost Day.

It’s a way to tell that another week has gone by.

Not unlike garbage day, which for us is every Monday, the compost is collected every Friday.

So on Thursday I bring up the green bin to the kitchen, where we’ve been collecting the compost in a small little garbage pail, and I transfer the bag as cleanly as possible, and let the garbage bin air out until it’s ready for a new bag on Friday morning.

We’ve been composting for about 5 years now and I love it. It’s definitely reduced our garbage load, and it makes me feel like we’re doing something to help the environment.

And every week I think “Wow, I can’t believe it’s Thursday again already.”

Here’s what I have going on this week:

This Week’s To-Do

  • It’s Back To The Dentist for me on Monday. There’s one new cavity developing, and it’s right next to a tooth where it seems I’ve lost part of a filling, so that’s getting taken care of.

  • Big news this week - my daughter got a parking spot at school, so this is the first full week where I Don’t Have To Worry About High School Drop-Off. We’ll see how that impacts my routine - it’s definitely a relief.

  • I was probably due to get a haircut back in the first week of September. I put it off a bit, because if I got one then I’d have to get another before Chicago and I was like, how long can I push it so that my haircut will carry me through Chicago? Well, I can’t push it any longer. I am hoping I can Get A Haircut on Monday, but if not it has to be done by Tuesday or Wednesday the latest. I think that’ll be good enough so it won’t be too long for the marathon.

  • Busy week at work as we Get Back To The School Year Routine. But it’ll be nice to have my normal work routine back. There’s also an event on Friday night so I’ll be working later than usual there.

  • And holy smokes, it’s the Last Week Of Baseball Season. Hopefully I’ll be watching the Mets clinch a playoff spot this week…but it’s certainly no sure thing. (No way am I putting that part of the sentence in bold.)

Last week I didn’t have much planned coming back from the race. Here’s how I did, with the reminder you can click here for (slightly) more detail:

Last Week’s To-Do

  • I told you all about Reach the Beach.

  • Mets were good, Jets were not.

  • Friday’s birthday celebration was lovely…I’ll be setting up a little gathering with her friends today for this evening.
