2025 Week 45 To-Do

This picture was taken halfway through this week’s work. I started with the bottom, then moved the TV and did the very top part and the middle. Very happy I got this done.

I forget what phases I’m at with the painting that I haven’t really touched since June.

But I think that exercise wall was Phase 1, and the rest of the downstairs living room was Phase 2.

Phase 3 is probably the stairs. (This is what I’m going with now for phases.)

And Phase 4 would be the final phase, the rest of the downstairs hallway.

I started Phase 3 before I finished Phase 2 - I started priming the stairway walls, then realized I need a different kind of paint.

And I paused Phase 2 because I wasn’t ready to unplug the TV and all of the stuff that’s in that part of the bookshelf.

But last week I finally took the plunge. After looking at a half-painted backdrop for the entire baseball season, the minute there were no more games to watch I got the TV out of there and now everything in this part of downstairs is done.

Hopefully I’ll get a good chunk of Phases 3 and 4 done before the end of the year. Maybe I’ll work on the stair wall this week…but here’s what’s definitely happening this week:

This Week’s To-Do

  • You’ll remember tomorrow is the Boston Half Marathon. I’ll be telling you about it this week.

  • I could have probably taken another Tuesday off from work this week, but instead I’ll Go To Work On The Holiday.

  • I’m making it official, since I can use a third bullet point here: I’m going to Paint The Stairs Wall. At least the banister and trimming, which will be white…but maybe also the gray part.

How’d I do last week? Glad you asked. Let’s catch up on last week’s list, with a reminder you can click here for more details about each item:

Last Week’s To-Do

  • I voted, my preferred mayoral candidate won.

  • I used the time at home on Election Day to do a good chunk of that painting.

  • That trail race the running club put on last weekend was great. I had a real nice time checking in the runners and then handing out water when they finished.

  • Kevin did, in fact, make the trip, and I did, in fact, pick him up at the airport.

  • I entered the lotteries for the NYC Half and next year’s Chicago Marathon. We’ll see what happens.
