My Newest Sweatshirt
Retail therapy is a thing - sometimes it makes me feel better to buy something.
So - and this is my last update related to move-in - when we moved my daughter into college, it wasn’t like I HAD to buy something.
But we popped over to the bookstore and I figured if I saw a sweatshirt I liked, maybe I’d get one.
I saw a sweatshirt I liked.
My current problem is buying too many sweatshirts…and hats. I’ve kind of taken a liking to the trucker-style hats with the mesh backs and I bought a couple for running and I’ve bought a couple of other Mets ones to wear when I’m not running - I don’t want to sweat in them, in other words - and I’m kind of running out of good space to keep them. I promise I’m done buying those for now (although I kind of think it might be a good idea to buy a Jets one…ah, see, this is what I’m talking about).
But I like hooded, zip-up sweatshirts, and this South Carolina one is my favorite kind - it has a simple logo there on the front and nothing on the back.
I like an understated sweatshirt like that - maybe you’ll start noticing this a little more now that I’m mentioning it - it’s hard to find an event or team-type of sweatshirt without a lot of printing all over it.
I thought I had the perfect New York City Marathon sweatshirt last year, with a logo on the front, but it has a big design on the back too.
This one got dicey but I averted disaster - I bought it, took off the tags as we were walking away from the store, and then I realized there was a hole in it. I went back to exchange it and it turned out that one was the last large - so I got an extra large. It isn’t insanely big - and it’s big enough that I can put it over a long sleeve shirt, so I am satisfied.
Nothing beats zipping up a sweatshirt like this on a cool fall day in football season - so I’m glad I have one now for my daughter’s school.
I think it’s probably a good idea for me to stop buying hooded sweatshirts now too…
…although, if I see a good one with nothing on the back at the Chicago Marathon Expo, well…..
