Monthly Goal Check-In #10

A rare monthly recap on the third day of the month - and it comes in the second-to-last monthly recap of the year.

And there’s been some developments!

Something to look forward to: next week I’ll hopefully be knocking out two goals in one shot.

But October had a big goal accomplishment too.

So without further ado - as November gets underway, let’s see where I’m at with my goals for 2025:

Running/Exercise Goals

  1. Take a Peloton Class in Studio: There are just a couple more planned trips to New York before the end of the year - the one at the end of this month has no open Peloton classes, but maybe as the date approaches I can jump on a wait list. We’ll see. This is approaching ‘in danger of not happening.’ But that’s OK.

  2. 100 Day Streak Challenge: Check. Completed. So long ago.

  3. Complete at least 1 Marathon and 1 Half Marathon: Halfway to this goal….

  4. Complete the B.A.A. Distance Medley: …and this one is the other one in that 2-for-1 shot next week. I gave a little update on how I was feeling about the distance medley, which also has links to the recaps of each previous race if you’re interested.

  5. Run a sub-5 hour Marathon: Wooooooooo. But also, whew. Did it by 40 seconds. I wrote about it a couple of times, but I’ll link to this post about it.

  6. 2026 Boston Marathon: I’ll be submitting my name into the lottery this month, probably. I’m sure sometime in December we’ll know how that turns out. I think a lot of people have the same plan as me, so I’m not getting my hopes up too much.

Writing

  1. Finish Book Draft: This is coming along nicely.

  2. Document 2025 on this blog every day: Hard to believe I have less than 60 of these left now. I’ve enjoyed doing this and the accountability it brings me and we’ll see what the next two months of posts bring.

  3. Publish a Written Piece: Probably not happening.

Other

  1. Read More: Just picked up my new read from the library - and it’s an intentional re-read for me. I think I’ll be writing about it.

  2. Learn New Things and Experience New Things: This has been very hard to quantify…but it’s happening. I helped out at the running club trail race on Sunday - I don’t think I’ll be writing about it, but I enjoyed it and it’s one of those things that I’ve decided to take the time to experience this year and here we are in November and I’ve done that sort of thing a bunch.
