Crocs

I took my daughter to DSW to get some sneakers before school started.

As I tend to do I checked out the clearance section.

I don’t often shop at DSW for myself - longtime readers will know that I used to wear a size 13 and then when I got properly fitted for running shoes they bumped me up to a 14.

DSW does not generally have shoes that big.

But sometimes there’s an odd pair of 14s in the clearance section.

On this day there were only 13s…but there was this pair of crocs that I threw on just to see what the hype was about.

They felt surprisingly comfortable…and even though they were 13s they were a good size for my feet.

And the price was right - they were marked down to $35.

I didn’t love the color, but when I thought about it they were the exact same color as my Oofos. So I bought them.

I’ve been using them more lately than my Oofos mostly because they press down less on the tops of my feet when I drive - other sandals (including the Oofos) get a little tight around the top of my foot and rub against it and sometimes irritate my foot.

I’m writing about them today because as you read this maybe I’m finishing one of my Reach the Beach legs…and as long as it’s not very cold (or as long, I guess, as we’re not walking into the one restaurant for our one sit-down meal), I’m probably wearing them for recovery.
