2025 Week 35 To-Do

Pictured: My 2023 flight to Chicago.

Every few weeks I do something during the week that I didn’t put on the To-Do List that should obviously have been on the To-Do List because I had been thinking about it for long enough.

This week there was one such thing: Booking my flight to Chicago.

Kevin and I were going to try to do it before the school year started and we barely missed - but we did sit down and finally do it on Sunday. We found flights that arrived within 15 minutes of each other, which will be nice - we can ride the train from the airport to the city together, and then I think my flight leaves an hour or 90 minutes after his, which is also great - we can leave the hotel at the same time.

Everything about Chicago is getting very exciting.

This Week’s To Do

  • Now that the flight is booked, I think the only thing left to settle is Figuring Out What I’m Going To Wear In The Chicago Marathon. I have an idea, but I guess I need to make a decision. I’m not sure if the colors match, to be honest.

  • This is going to be A Good Weekend Of Watching Sports. The Mets suddenly became fun to watch again, and college football starts in earnest today (I did watch one game last week), with games all weekend. South Carolina plays a big game Sunday afternoon.

  • Lately I’ve been using the weekend to finish the writing work I haven't done during the week, but this week I got it all done before Friday. So I should be able to Do Some Creative Writing this weekend. I’ll tell you more about that in the monthly goal recap on Monday.

Here’s how last week went, with a reminder you can click here for more details:

Last Week’s To-Do List

  • School is underway. Lots of moving parts, so it’ll be a bit before we get all of the routines settled. I did take Wednesday off to help the process.

  • Morning running is one of those things. For now I have to drive the girls to school (if the high school can figure out parking that will change), so I can run on days I don’t work or they don’t have school…but those are few and far between.

  • I went all summer without making a menu, but sat right down and made a September one fairly quickly. I’m glad to have that structure back.

  • I do not yet have a reason to pick up a new planner. I did finally put the new school year dates on the wall calendar.
