It recently occurred to me it’s the time of year where all of those end-of-year wraps come around.

Spotify’s is the most popular…and I don’t know, I guess I’m looking forward to seeing how the algorithm pegs me this year. I’ve been listening to my ‘Upbeat Mix’ a lot recently, so I think that will probably bias the results…though there have been some new music listens for this here writing activity that will also influence it. (Kendrick Lamar, Megan Moroney, and Wilco/Jeff Tweedy are a few that come to mind that I didn’t spend a whole lot of time with after my initial dive, but I still probably listened to them more than most this year.)

Otherwise, I’m always surprised when a new one pops up - I just recently discovered the Baseball Reference website does a kind of end-of-year wrap of the most popular pages (not customized, as far as I know, but maybe since you can log in for the grid it will soon be?), and that led me to discovering new spots on their site. (‘Greatest comebacks ever’ was a fun one to explore.)

So I guess I’ll be spending time soon looking forward to those wrap-ups over the final month of the year. Otherwise, here’s what’s going on this week:

This Week’s To-Do

First and foremost, I have to Pick My Daughter Up From The Airport. There’s a week off for Thanksgiving for her and she’s coming home.
We’ll spend a bit of the time she’s home with a Short Trip To New York.
On Saturday morning I’m checking out a New Local Running Event - I’ll be telling you about that this week.
Monday is the Last Leaf Pickup by the town - that’s why I resorted to mowing up the leaves this week and trying to get more bags filled more quickly. It’s like vacuuming the grass. It’s hard this time of year - dark comes so soon after I get home from work. But I’ve done what I can. Maybe I can still get a couple of bags down to the yard waste center myself before they close. Seems like a waste to have Thanksgiving weekend where I can’t pick up more leaves.
Of course, there’s Thanksgiving Day - Turkey Trot and turkey dinner on Thursday.
Thanksgiving weekend is generally when I Put Up Christmas Lights. It has to happen this week, especially considering how late Thanksgiving falls on the calendar. I suppose I can even get a jump on it on Wednesday if I want.

I wasn’t feeling great Saturday morning. Ended up running with my daughter on Sunday, as I told you.
I also told you that the Meet and Greet was a nice event. You can find these posts if you go back just a couple of days.
My entry into the lottery has been submitted.
I think my brother had a nice birthday. I will see him his week and find out for sure.
