2025 Week 48 To-Do

In another one of those little coincidences that this year has brought, for the past ten days or so I have had a free preview of Sirius XM in my car.

Not every station, but enough of the good ones I would choose to listen to - the 80s station, the 50s station (it’s been a while since I spent this much time with the oldies - so good), ESPN, the Christmas music station…and Conan O’Brien Radio.

The Conan channel plays clips from old TV interviews, parts of the podcast segments with his co-hosts, and full podcast interviews, among other things.

I listened to the end of the Lisa Kudrow podcast one day on the way to work, and then the next day going to the store with Kathy I heard the middle part of that interview leading up to the part I heard. (Maybe I’ll still catch the beginning of the interview before the free preview goes away.) Once again - full circle. Lisa Kudrow was one of the people I mentioned early in the year here too in that Ray Romano show.

There was also an old TV interview with Allison Janney that I heard that had me laughing out loud in my car again like a maniac.

It’s been a nice thing to have for the past week-plus.

The free preview goes away on Monday and then it’ll be back to my podcasts and music. Here’s what else happens this week:

This Week’s To-Do

  • With Monday being December 1st I should finalize a December Menu. Maybe in 2026 I can just pull out the old months and we can do it all over again. Will anyone remember/care if we have the same meal on January 30th that we did last year?

  • I received an Exciting Mail Delivery yesterday that I didn’t think would come until next week - so I guess the bold should be I have Something Fun To Do this week that I’ll certainly be writing about.

  • Even though they’re likely making me sick (do leaves have mold that gets in your throat? I think they’ve been making me cough.), I should do One More Leaf Clean-Up since the drop-off center is open until mid-December.

  • This morning I’m going to Run Parkrun for the first time. Going to treat it as a nice jog just to get my first run on the books. (I don’t want to set an unsurmountable PR in my first run there.) Then I plan to volunteer again next week.

  • Oh, sad face. Also have to Take My Daughter To The Airport…but she’ll be back ridiculously soon.

Last week was really busy, leading into the holiday. Here’s how it went, with a reminder you can click here for more details about each item.

Last Week’s To-Do

  • My daughter’s travel was smooth. Her plane landed early…

  • …and early Sunday morning she and I went to New York and hung out there until Monday morning.

  • I told you about parkrun.

  • Got a bunch of bags out last week, but I’m still working on keeping the driveway clear. As I told you above, the leaf drop-off closes on December 14.

  • We had a nice Thanksgiving…

  • …and I told you yesterday about the new light display and how I took advantage of the warm weather Wednesday to put them up.
