New Running Gloves
Thanks to Kathy for helping me take a picture of my hands, which I realized I would not be able to do since I use my hands to take pictures.
When I ran on Monday, it was just cold enough that I had to break out a hat and gloves.
But not just any gloves.
I think it was probably for my birthday I had gotten a gift card to Dick’s.
Gift cards are always hard for me to figure out what to spend them on.
But now that I run so much I at least have a general category on what I should be spending them on.
So I walked through the Nike section and I saw these gloves - a very good thickness and very comfortable-looking.
Nike Pacer Midweight Gloves, they’re called.
Dick’s had a small size in the blue and I think it was a green color that they had in my size but I liked the blue a lot better so I took down all of the information and found them online and ordered the blue in the right size. (I like the blue better because it’s a better color in general but also because they’re Batman-colored.)
The order worked out great - and the price was great, I think I paid only $25 for them, maybe less? - but it was the middle of the summer so I didn’t need the gloves at all for months.
Until Monday, when I went to run and the temperature was in the 30s.
I waited it out a little bit - into the low 40s - when it was appropriate to go in shorts, a long sleeve tee, a hat, and these gloves.
The fit isn’t perfect, I've realized - they’re a little long in the fingers. But they fit snug around the wrist, which is nice to keep the cold out, and if I’m running in the dead of winter sometimes I even double up on gloves so perhaps these could go over another pair of gloves without being stretched out…or under a pair of gloves and I won’t even notice the fingers.
And since most of my running clothes are in the blue realm, the Batman match is perfect.
I guess what I’m trying to say is although it’s hard for me to figure out how to spend it, you shouldn’t shy away from getting me a gift card.
Eventually I’ll find something that I’ll need.
