Michael Bublê: Christmas

Hello.

Merry Christmas.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to have a regular post for today, and then on Sunday I went for a long run and figured maybe I should listen to a Christmas album I’d never listened to before and it took me about half a second to realize it should be the Michael Bublé album.

Peloton has been playing a lot of Bublé in their holiday classes, and if you listen to any music this time of year you hear songs off this album.

It’s a pretty great album - it features a bunch of classic Christmas songs.

I don’t know that I could tell you my favorite versions of all Christmas songs - I really like the Andy Williams version of ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’ and I love the Drifters’ version of ‘White Christmas’ (so I can name a couple) - but I do have favorite songs that I like hearing.

Many of them are on this album.

In fact, the version of ‘White Christmas’ he does on this album is like the Drifters’ interpretation. and it features Shania Twain. I’m pretty sure I’d never heard that song before - it’s weird to me which songs off an album like this are chosen for incessant radio play and which ones aren’t.

There’s a really good, slowed-down version of ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’, and one original Christmas song.

The music feels like it’s always been around - the album actually came out in 2011.

You could do worse than just playing this album on repeat on your Christmas Day.

I think it’s appropriate for the post today.
