L.L. Bean
They opened a new L.L. Bean in Framingham last week.
I don’t think I’ve ever been to an L.L. Bean…though I have a couple of clothing items that I got as gifts over the years.
One of the shirts is kind of big - I have to wear it over another shirt to fill it more nicely.
But I do like the idea of being a plaid/flannel guy (it’s not a stretch - I already do have some plaid/flannel shirts), and we had a coupon for the grand opening, so I thought we should check out the store.
It’s kind of up my alley. I had no idea.
I ended up getting a shirt and a sweater - saved $20 with the coupon.
The clothes are not outrageously priced…but they’re not cheap. I can treat myself every once in a while, I think.
It’s definitely the right time of year for these clothes - everything looks like something I could wear throughout the rest of the fall and into winter.
The shirt is the one I wore in the picture with this post. The sweater I haven’t worn yet, but I think it would work as just a sweater or putting it over a collared shirt.
It turns out I’m a medium at L.L. Bean (in case you’re thinking of picking up anything for me). I wore the shirt I linked to in the pic above and it fits really well - that’s the medium I bought. I wore the aforementioned large again last week and had to wear a long sleeve shirt under it (which worked, because it’s been so friggin’ cold) just to make it look like I’m not swimming in my shirt.
I got the sweater in a large, though, in case I do layer it. I don’t think it looks overly big without something underneath it.
Clothes sizes are weird. The BAA Half shirt I got this year is way too big - it’s a large, like the one I got the last time I did the BAA Half, and that shirt fits perfectly. Actually, all three of the Distance Medley shirts fit a little on the bigger side this year…but I don’t think I could get away with a medium in those. Or at least I wouldn’t risk getting one.
Anyway, I like L.L. Bean. I will shop there more.
